SPRING in the SMOKIES

We've been telling you how beautiful Spring is in the Smokies.  Now we will show you how you enjoy TWO Spring Seasons in one day!

Take a look at this picture:

If you look carefully, you will see the trees at the bottom are fully leafed out.  But as you go up the mountain, the leaves get a little more sparse - until the trees a the top of the mountain have hardly any leaves on them.

You've got to hit it just right, and this is about the right time.  Here's the secret:  come to Gatlinburg and stay at All Decked Out or Smoky Mountain Tower.  Then take a day to drive through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  When you leave Gatlinburg, you'll be in full "Spring."  By the time you get to the top of the Park, you'll likely find "Winter" - or at least trees with few leaves.  Then come back down to Gatlinburg and enjoy "Spring" again!
