Still on our 'business trip!'

It's been a week since our last post, and we're still hard at work on our 'business trip!'  We did check out the Gatlinburg competition and found that, while it's nice, it can't come close to Smoky Mountain Tower or All Decked Out.  In addition to attending the timeshare presentation, we've also talked with two different families about spending time in Gatlinburg.  One of them is really hoping to come to Smoky Mountain Tower during the last week of June.  So we're definitely hard at work!

We also have done some of our regular Gatlinburg work.  We have expanded our advertising and are now advertising both Smoky Mountain Tower AND All Decked Out on VRBO - as well as over a dozen other Web sites.  This means more people will be considering spending their Gatlinburg vacation in our cabins.  We've already seen our inquiries increase.  So if you're planning a trip to Gatlinburg this year, please don't wait.  Every week, we have to tell inquirers that our cabins are already booked for the dates they want.

But I must confess that our 'business trip' hasn't been ALL business.  Yesterday, we met some friends who work for Wycliffe Associates (the Bible translation people) and toured the Wycliffe Discovery Center.  Here's what it looks like when you walk in the door.  The Discovery Center entrance is just to the left.

The tour was fascinating and we learned a lot of very interesting facts.  Did you know that there are over 7,000 languages in the world?  Wycliffe has translated the Bible into more than 5,000 of those languages.

After the tour and lunch, we went across the street to Campus Crusade for Christ, where we were able to take a tour of how the Jesus Film is produced.  We learned that the Jesus Film has been produced in more than 1,100 languages.

I wish Wycliffe and the Jesus Film could bring both of these tours to Gatlinburg, because they are very informative and worthwhile.  But that will probably have to wait for our next 'business trip!'
