There's hope for the National Park main road

As you may remember from a previous post, the road through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park has been closed because of a landslide.  You can still get into the park from both the Gatlinburg and the North Carolina sides, but you can't go ALL the way through the park.

Now there is hope.  According to an article in the Charlotte Observer, a contractor has been hired to fix the problem.  The contractor estimates the road will be back open by May 15 - which is a lot earlier than earlier predictions that said the road would be closed for a whole year.

We have a new addition!

This past weekend, our guests at All Decked Out sent us an email with a picture to show us the new addition they made to our mantle collection.  Here are the guests - Eva and Egon - and the addition:

Thank you, Eva and Egon - along with Wolf and Char - for this wonderful gift.  It's now a part of our growing mantle collection over the fireplace.

We are so thankful for all our guests.  And when they add something special, like these two couples did, it makes all our work at All Decked Out and Smoky Mountain Tower worth it.

We hope you will stay with us - and it's not necessary to bring a new addition!  Your presence is the best present we could ever get!
