Carpet at All Decked Out

I just talked with Vickie at Ogle's Carpet. She said the carpet for All Decked Out is supposed to be shipped on Monday next week, will arrive on Wednesday, and they'll start installing on Thursday. So we should be able to show you pictures in about 10 days.

Stay tuned......

Decking Out 'All Decked Out'

In our last post, we said we would update you on our refurbishing of All Decked Out.

First the bad news. The carpet installation has been delayed because the carpet is on back-order. So it won't go in on Monday, February 28, like we originally said. But it shouldn't be much later than that - maybe a week.

Now the good news. The delay in the carpet is letting us do a couple of other things. Our good friend, Mark, plans to install new flooring in the kitchen area, as well as the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms (the main bath floor is only a couple years old).

And we DID buy some new furniture. Remember this leather sectional (complete with a bunch of our kids and grandkids?):

It's going to a new home at Hickory Cove Bible Camp. In its place will be a beautiful Mitchell Gold 4-piece sectional in a color that shall, for now, remain a surprise. In fact, we have a whole color scheme that we will unveil just as soon as the new couch and carpet arrive. If you want to get a rough idea of the sectional, click here. This picture is not the configuration we bought - ours is more 'unique.'

Something else you're gonna like. You know those really heavy metal dining room chairs?

They're going away, too. In their place will be six new wooden chairs, similar to the ones around the game table downstairs. Here's a photo of one of those chairs to refresh your memory:

We couldn't get an exact duplicate, but the new ones are made by the same company. We're going to keep the glass-top dining room table for now. But with the new chairs, which are about 15% narrower than the old metal ones, guests can bring a couple of the game table chairs up from downstairs and seat 8 people at the dining table.

We still plan to spend all next week working in Gatlinburg, and we'll update you as we go along. Hopefully, by around March 8 or 9, we can show you the newly-decked-out 'All Decked Out.' As always, questions and/or comments are always welcome.
