I just got back from a seminar conducted by VisitMySmokies.com - the advertising brand for Sevier County. One of the major discussion items was "social media" - especially Facebook.
I learned a lot. One thing in particular stood out. I no longer need to have BOTH a blog and a Facebook page in order to move up in the Search Engine listings.
So we are going to close down this blog and start putting all our news on Facebook. You can easily find us at www.Facebook.com/smokiesrentdirect. We hope you'll "like" us there, so you can stay informed about all our news. Chalet Village offers discounts!
When we were in Gatlinburg last week, we attended the Chalet Village Owners Club annual meeting. Chalet Village is the area where both our cabins are located.
During the meeting (pictured above), we got a whole lot of very helpful information which we'll be sharing as time goes on. But one of the best things we found out, as we picked up our new 2011 passes, is that the pass now offers much more than just access to the swimming pools. You can now get discounts at area restaurants and attractions. The discounts are as high as 20%, which is typically more than you will find in all those coupon books.
Your special Owners Club pass is located in the Guest Information Notebook at each of our cabins. It's attached to a wrist band so you won't lose it. Be sure to put the pass back where you found it, as lost passes will require us to charge you $50.00 for a replacement!

You will also find details about the swimming pools and tennis courts, hours of operation, etc. Both Smoky Mountain Tower and All Decked Out are located only about 500 yards from the North Club House.
