A Family Affair - getting ready for 11-11-11
If you've been following our blog for any length of time, you know that our rental of Smoky Mountain Tower and All Decked Out is a family affair.
We - Dave and Phyllis - are the owners of both cabins:
Our youngest daughter, Angie, helped us get everything started in 2007 when we began renting the cabins ourselves. She designed the Web site, set up our credit card system, and really got things going. For the first year or so, she handled all the reservations and correspondence with guests, paid the bills, and generally 'ran the business.' Then the babies started coming. Here's Angie and her family now (husband Tim, oldest son Drake, and newest addition Adam):
As you can imagine, Angie is very busy with these little ones. She still does Web site work and project work for us, and is a great resource for ideas and feedback. But as Phyllis and I get older, we need help with more of the regular work.
Enter our middle daughter - Marcia. After a few weeks of training, Marcia is now handling all our inquiries. Hopefully, she may be able to do more in the near future. But as you can see, supporting her husband, John, and caring for her two teenage boys, Zack (right) and Nathan, is a big job - especially when you consider that she is homeschooling the boys!
We're very thankful for our family team. When you send an inquiry, you'll be hearing back from Marcia. But Angie (and me, Dave) will still be involved in making sure your stay in Gatlinburg is the best it can be.
Why am I telling you all this now? I just want you to know that we are ready for you to make your "Big Deal" reservation on 11-11-11.
