How's THIS for a 'business' trip?!

Okay, we'll let you in on a secret.  We do NOT work all the time on Smoky Mountain Tower and All Decked Out.  Once in a while, we actually take a little time off.

Several years ago, we bought a timeshare through RCI.  Unfortunately, it hasn't been the best experience, because we've just never figured out how to use our points.  That is, until now.  We finally put together a few days, used some frequent flyer miles, and have come down to the Summer Bay Resorts in Clermont, FL.  In case you're wondering where Clermont is, we're only about 15 minutes east of the Disney Main Gate.

When we got here today, the first question was, "Which days are you going to Disney?"  When we told them we weren't planning to go at all, the guest services guy was speechless.  Finally he said, "Well, it happens.  I remember back in 2004 we had a couple that didn't go to Disney!"

Actually, this is a 'business' trip.  This company also has a resort in Gatlinburg.  So we're going to the usual "presentation" - but only so we can check out the 'competition.'  Of course, nothing can compete with All Decked Out or Smoky Mountain Tower, right?

Hmmmm - I wonder if I can write this trip off on my taxes.  Probably not.  Anyway, if you don't hear from us for a little while, you will know that we are busy on our 'business' trip.  Meanwhile, Marcia is still on duty and ready to take your reservation.

Vacations, weddings, and now ... meetings!

People come to our cabins for lots of reasons.  Most of the time, they come for a relaxing, fun-filled vacation.

But we've had several weddings at both All Decked Out and Smoky Mountain Tower.  Now, we've added another reason to come to Gatlinburg - a meeting!

Recently, several members of the Board of Directors of a missionary sending agency spent the weekend in Gatlinburg.  Phyllis and I are privileged to serve on this Board.  Because there were 12 of us, we stayed at both cabins, but had our meeting at Smoky Mountain Tower.  The primary reason for the meeting was to review some of the current situations with missionaries in various parts of the world, and to spend time praying for them..

As you see, we actually had our meetings in the Sunroom at Smoky Mountain Tower.  Notice the laptop in the left foreground, and the video projector on the black table.  It was a great privilege for us to be able to actually visit with our missionaries via Skype.  We could see and hear them, and they could do the same with us.  So it was a very profitable weekend.  Not only did we accomplish a lot, but we also had some great time visiting with each other and enjoying the mountains.

Maybe you belong to a group like this that would profit from a meeting in Gatlinburg.  For small groups, you can meet right in one of our cabins.  For larger groups, we have access to the club house that's only 500 yards from either Smoky Mountain Tower or All Decked Out.  Please contact us if we can help facilitate your next meeting - along with the beauty of the Smokies!
