We have 76 cabins available in the Smokies!

If you've been following us for any length of time, you know that we have two cabins in the Gatlinburg area - All Decked Out and Smoky Mountain Tower.  But we sometimes get inquiries from guests who need a bigger cabin, or who are looking for dates when we are already booked.

That's okay - we can still help.  We are part of a group of about 55 cabin owners who all rent out their own cabins.  This group is very active, conversing through a Yahoo group with about 25-30 messages a day.  One of the things we all do is pass along inquiries that we can't handle (for whatever reason).

So just because the dates on our calendar may already be booked, we still may be able to help you.  We'll post your inquiry to the Yahoo Board (with your permission) and you will be contacted directly by anybody who has an opening.  It's more than just a great way to extend your search for the right cabin, because you will be dealing with a whole group of reputable owners (like us) who care about their properties and work hard to make sure your Smokies vacation is the best it can be.

So, please check out Smoky Mountain Tower and All Decked Out for your vacation.  But if we're not exactly what you need, or your dates are already booked, please let us know.  We still may be able to help with one of "our" other 74 cabins!

Where was this picture taken?

This is an easy one, so I'll tell you the answer.  We took this picture at the Sevierville Walmart, which is apparently the second busiest Walmart store in the U.S.  It's open 24/7 and is always busy.  I've been there in the wee hours of the morning and the parking lot is almost full!

We make a "Walmart run" every time we go to Gatlinburg.  It's about 11 miles from either All Decked Out or Smoky Mountain Tower.  On this particular visit, we got off pretty easy - only $162.62.

If you look carefully at our cart, you may be able to pick out (among the 23 items we bought):
  • New blinds for the Queen Bonus Room at Smoky Mountain Tower
  • A fluorescent light bulb to go over the kitchen sink at All Decked Out (there are other light bulbs in the bags)
  • A broom for Smoky Mountain Tower (it's in the front closet)
  • A DVD player for All Decked Out, to fit better in the cabinet with the cable box
  • A tea kettle for Smoky Mountain Tower
And yes, that wooden handle right in the middle of the basket is a toilet plunger for the main bath at All Decked Out.

Why are we showing this?  Because we want you to know that we do everything possible to totally equip our cabins for the comfort of our guests.  Walmart is just one place we shop.  And we take your comments back to us seriously about items that may be needed for your convenience.  Thank you - and keep them coming.
